Mindful Menu Wherever

In body + soul, April 2008, there is a short blurb about cards to help eating out and making better choices. The blurb is on page 26, titled “Order’s Up”. The magazine mentions Mindful Menus Whenever ( for $25 ), which can be purchased on http://www.foodtrainer.net. It’s developed by two New York-based nutritionists Lauren Slayton and Caren Tishfield. Taken from their site, “Mindful Menus Wherever is portable and easilty fits into a pocket, handbag or briefcase. You can use these 10 credit card sized cards to help you decide what to order and what to skip when you are eating Italian, Diner Food, Sushi, Mexican, Thai, Salads, Chinese, Starbucks, Happy Hour, and a general Ten Tips for Eating Wherever card.”

Sounds helpful. Like many people, I don’t cook at home as often as I should and having something to guide me to make better decisions sounds like a good idea to me. When I get around to buying these, I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Brand new start

We bought a house a couple years ago.  And as with any new home owner, we wanted to start things off right, so I started reading articles about an eco-friendly home and lifestyle.  What I found were so many articles, websites and advice.  What I gained was a stack of information I wanted to keep ahold of to read and refer to later.  Not very re-cycle friendly is it?  I decided then to put everything online so I could refer to it at a later date and hopefully find it alot easier than thumbing through a stack of print outs, riped out magazine pages and other scraps of paper laying around.

Maybe someone else will find this useful. If so, great!  Otherwise atleast I’ll be a bit more organized and less cluttered.
